Sunny California...sort of

We finally made it to California and Sea World after counting down 28 long days. Our hotel was right on the beach and had beautiful views all day and night.

Although we came to see whales, and dolphins, and sharks, and tigers, the kids had the most fun at the beach I think. We had to drag them away crying each time we walked down.

Loving the sand in their toes!

We came for Sea World since Sean is obsessed with sharks and the ocean. The Saturday we had planned to go it was raining like crazy, but we came to see Sea World and by darn we were going no matter what. I guess that was the Walle World in us! (Randy didn't pack the bebe gun thank goodness.) We stopped at the gift store and loaded up with umbrellas and ponchos. Kate was pretty stinkin' cute in her garbage bag attire.

Forget Shamu, Sea world has the coolest shark tank we've ever seen. I was totally amazed looking over it, then at the end they take you in a tunnel underneath the tank so the sharks are swimming over your head. It was the "coolest thing we eva seen" in Sean's words.

We were lucky enough to stumble on the dolphins right at feeding time. Sean got to put the fish in their mouth and pet them. I think Randy was loving this more than Sean though.

I'm so sorry that all animals at zoos and parks have to live in captivity, but they sure made our year. They opened the Shamu show the day we arrived after another killer whale killed their trainer in Miami that week. I'm so glad we got to see the show. It was amazing. I've never seen Sean's eyes open so wide. Kate on the other hand was tired and it didn't matter that we were being splashed by a killer whale in a massive rain storm, she cuddled up against my wet poncho and checked out.

The San Diego zoo didn't disappoint either. We actually took Sean here two years ago, but he fell asleep in the stroller 5 minutes after we got there. This time he saw everything!

Cute little monkeys! (actually orangutang)

Good nite sleepy heads!
