Produce anyone?
One of the greatest things about our new house is our yard, or Barnhisel Park, as some have called it. It is huge, sunny, and came with mature apricot, peach, pear, and apple trees. There was already a spot for a garden and with no time to spare, Randy threw some seeds down toward the end of June. We were hoping for a pumpkin or two, maybe some corn stalks for decorations, and peas and tomatoes. I'm sure it was just dumb luck, but we have quite the feast of produce just a few steps out the door. The kids go out almost every evening and pick apples and pears. I usually have to pry the sticky mess away from them and drag them in screaming for a much needed bath.
Although I've never really been a fruit and veggie girl until I had kids, I do have to say it gives me satisfaction to see the little tykes go crazy over such healthy treats.
Kate loves her pears......Mama loves that the fruit provide a healthy snack, and much needed break at the end of the day.

Wow!! Your garden looks awsome.. I know where I'm coming when I need some stuff:) Sorry about your Grandpa, that is so hard. He looked like such a great guy:)
I am so glad everyone has blogs, so I can still keep in touch...
Looks like fun! I wish I had a garden like that! I HATED my old garden in Taylorsville, and now just can't stand anything to do with gardens. Wish my boys would eat fruit..count your blessings!!!
Love Randy's award winning pumpkin!!!!
Oh man, I want to come to your house in the evenings and pick fruit too. Good job Lissie! Nice pumpkin Randy :-) Your yard IS a park. Lucky ducks.
Super impressive :) When we lived in Bountiful our yard was large as well, we just didn't have the motivation to plant anything. But thanks to a bunch of Green Thumb neighbors, we always had little bags of goodies left on our porch! Enjoy!
man I am so jealous. I have tried the past two years to have such a garden and I am lucky if I get one tomato. I am coming over there next year.
