Take the good with the bad.
We enjoyed our traditional 4th of July Millcreek parade. Sean was so excited to catch the candy. He kept saying, "Oh my goodness sakes, you kiddin me, look at that big sucker!" Kate had a good time too. We decked out her cast in a red leg warmer.

Poor Kate broke her femur falling out of bed in the middle of the night. I seriously can't believe I never worried about that before. She is usually plastered to me at night, and I just don't know how I let her get away from me. She was in so much pain every time I moved her, I just knew she must have a neck injury. I rushed her to Primary Children's and after 8 hours of screaming and CT scans of her head, Emily and I figured out it was her leg that hurt her. I felt even worse then because I had been trying to be so careful of her head and neck, I'm sure I was just banging her leg around all morning. She had to wear a splint for a week which ment I couldn't put her down for a minute or else she would try to crwal and hurt herself. She finally got her pretty pink cast last week. Only problem is it scratches her other leg, so I had to go get baby leg warmers to put over it. Now we have to match our leg warmer to our outfit!
A couple days after Kate broke her leg, my Grandpa Coleman died. He was 93! My sisters Michelle and Jessica came out for the funeral. We had a nice little visit even though it was a sad event.
This picture is from 1990 at our annual Easter brunch at the Fort Douglas Club. My grandma put it up at the funeral, and I had to bite my tounge not to laugh hysterically. There was a lot of hair spray used to get all of those bangs so high!

Here are just a few random cute pictures of this summer.

Sean is talking so well and I love the "Oh my goodness sakes!" Glad you guys had a great 4th.
So sad about Kate. That just makes me hurt when I read the story, I bet it just about broke your heart when it happened. Nothing worse than having a baby cry and not be able to tell you what hurts :( So sad about your grandpa. I did laugh out loud with the family picture... I too have one of those I just can't bring myself to look at. So funny. Your sisters are all so cute, I cannot believe how much time has gone by since I have seen them. Too cute. Hope Kate heals quickly.
Grace says "what was the Lion's name in the parade, Sean?" Hattie says "I like your pink cast baby Kate." Both say "we wish we had a slip n slide in our backyard.
Shell says I'm so glad I got to come see you guys this week. I miss you all. But, that was a pretty great visit despite the reason for doing it.
Poor little Kate- but way cute leg warmers. Whitney broke her wrist a hew years ago and I let her go a whole week before I took her to the doctor because I didn't think it was as bad as it is. Who would have thought that falling out of bed could do that. Luckily kids are tough and bounce right back. She'll be up and around in no time. So sorry about your grandpa too. Sounds like an eventful month or two for you. Hope the rest of the summer is great.
You sure do take your sweet time updating your blog! JK. That is so sad about Kate, but it doesn't seem to affect her too much.
