'Twas the Night Before Christmas

We started the Christmas celebration with some sledding with all the Barnhisel's. It was super cold, but Sean and Randy had a great time. I stayed busy keeping Kate warm and taking photos.

To grandmother's house we go...
I had fun dressing Kate in her Christmas outfit for the parties. We went to Randy's mom's house for dinner, and then to my mom's house to exchange gifts.

This is the calm before the storm at Grandma Chris' house. Sean threw the most ridiculous temper tantrum I have ever seen. After screaming, hitting, scratching, and head butting me for an hour, we grabbed our keys and left everything else behind. At this point I thought Christmas was ruined. I'm sure the 50 or more people that witnessed this horrific scene are still talking about what a bad mom I am, and how I need to get my kid under control. All I cared about was getting to my mom's house and calming down.

Grandma saves Christmas with a Handy Manny toy she gave to Sean the second we walked in the door and she could tell things were bad. Luckily the world revolves around Sean when he is at Grandma's house. Thank you Mom!!

Kate loves her Grandpa Lyle. He always gets her to smile and almost laugh. (Grandma does too!)

Christmas PJ's. Sean's says "dear santa, it wasn't me" -yeah right Sean.

At least Jay kept Mrs. Clause company as she dropped off gifts for everyone. Mr. Clause was already fast asleep dreaming of his loot he hoped to get the next day. Thanks a lot Santa!

Visions of sugar plums, trains, binkies, movies, rockets....

Let's go see if Santa came!!!

Sean took Christmas very seriously this year. He has sung "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" every night until he falls asleep. He couldn't wait for Santa to bring him "lots and lots of pwennants."

Kate got a Bumbo chair. It is perfect for her. She can sit up and see what's going on, and we can take it from room to room so she doesn't get left behind in her swing anymore.

Still lovin' the Little Einsteins.

Sorry Jay, that one's for Sean too.

Kate seems to like her new stuff...

Sean seems to like Kate's new stuff too!

This is Kate in her silk romper Emily gave her. This will probably be the only time she wears it since it has to be dry cleaned. I can't wait to see how Aunt Em dresses her kids. Something tells me she's not going to want any of our clothes passed down.

Sean provided the entertainment at Grandma Coleman's.
