Baby Sloan!!!!
After sitting at home in labor for a good 10 hours, Jess finally checked in to the hospital around 6 or 7 at night. By 10 o'clock, I got the phone call from Emily that it was going to be soon, so I should come now. Luckily everyone was asleep so I could sneak out without too much trouble. Pulling up to the hospital I saw Dad booking it to the front door like there was a car deal he was going to miss. Yep, for someone who hates hospitals almost as much as he hates waiting for anything, he got a front row seat for the show. He couldn't wipe the grin off his face. He was so excited to meet another grandson! I had a feeling that we weren't going anywhere for a while...I was right.
By midnight, Jess hadn't made any progress, and I was worried the kids would wake up crying for me while Randy slept in his coma like state. Poor Jess and Nick were coming down with a virus and felt like crap. You couldn't eve wake Jess up to talk to her. I just felt like there were already way too many people there and I know from experience she really wouldn't care who was there the moment he was born, so I decided I'd head home and come back first thing in the morning. I told Emily to text me when she was ready to deliver so I could decide if I should come back.
I had a hard time getting back to sleep, but the moment I drifted off, my phone rang. It was Emily saying, "come now, hurry, you're going to miss it!" Well, off I went back to the hospital at 3:00am. When I got there Mom, Dad, Emily, and Nick's mom had their head pressed up against the door listening. I joined in, and a few minutes later we heard the cutest cry ever! I couldn't believe she actually was able to deliver him. I had my money on a c-section with her skinny hips.
Proud baby mama!!
After the adrenaline wore off, Jess could barely keep her eyes open. I felt so bad for her. All that work and she couldn't even enjoy it.
Sloan was a the cutest baby I have ever seen.
The next day, wait this is the same day just morning time, I took Sean and Kate with me to meet their new cousin. We got there just in time for his first bath!!!
I'm not sure if this is the way you're supposed to hold a newborn. Choke hold around his neck? Just kidding, I'm sure she's more than qualified to bathe a baby.
Nick learning how to diaper a child. Priceless...
Sean and Kate were more than excited to see Baby Sloan. Sean wants to play with him asap, and Kate wants to be his mommy.
Ahh, so glad you're here little dude. We're going to have so much fun!
