Piano Recital
Sean had his second piano recital in May. I think I had one billion things going on that month, so I am now just getting caught up. He looked so handsome in his tuxedo, which by the way, is his most favorite outfit of all. Kate looked pretty darn cute herself.
I think I was more nervous than Sean. Last time was quite a fiasco getting him to the piano. We had to make it a group effort and I had to sit with him. I wanted so badly for him to be brave and get up there by himself, but I was prepared for the worst, since that's usually my luck. I think I made him practice at least 50 times that day. Kate would pretend she was the student before him so he could get ready. She would go bow, pound on the piano for a minute, then bow and sit down. Sean would go after her and then we would clap for him and do it all over again.
Here he is standing by the 9 foot Steinway. It's a pretty awesome piano. I wouldn't mind pounding out a song or two on it.
I was a little worried when Sean insisted on sitting next to Grandma Curley. I didn't know how I would get him up there if I couldn't warn him his turn was coming. I knew Grandma would be no help either. When his turn came, I looked at him and said, "it's your turn!" To my complete astonishment he got up and went up there by himself. I was so proud, I didn't care what he did after that. It was a total victory. Then he remembered to bow and sat down and played his song like a champ. I seriously about died. He even remembered to bow afterward. Major proud mama moment. His song was the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse March...so perfect for him.
Group photo. Morgan, his teacher, is the tallest girl in the back. Great job Seaners!!!
