Kate's birthday party with Princess Ariel!
I'm not sure how we came to the idea of having a princess come to Kate's party. All I know is one minute we were planning a gymnastics party, and the next we were looking online at dozens of princesses. I'm always a little leery of hiring people on the internet, but this princess seemed practically perfect in every way!
Kate picked out her cake. If it looks familiar it's because she has picked the same cake for the last 3 birthdays. I tried to convince her to try something new, but the kid wants what she wants.
We spent a good portion of the day decorating, and I'd have to give myself an A+ for these decorations. They turned out so cute!
I ended up creating a back drop for photos. I'm not even sure how this happened, but it was great for everyone that wanted to take pictures of their kids with Ariel.
Ariel came right on time and got straight to work making glitter wands for the little princesses. She was so cute an addressed them all by whatever princess costume they were wearing. She spoke just like Ariel and would break into song out of nowhere. Seriously the best idea for little girls.
She even brought swords for Sean and Sloan!
Next, she told the kids a story about her. Kate had never even seen The Little Mermaid until the night before her party. Since Disney puts all the movies into the vault, you can never rent or buy them. I had been looking for the movie on amazon but couldn't find anything. We went to the grocery store the night before her birthday party and low and behold, Disney had just released it out of the vault! What are the chances? Kate watched it over and over getting ready for the party, and when Ariel told the story, you could see how excited Kate was that she knew what was going on.
After the story, Ariel gave Kate a special princes tiara and told her she was now officially a real princess. She also gave her the cutest clothes pin Ariel doll that she had made for her, and a flower. How cute is that?
All of the little princesses!
Present time! These were the cutest girly gifts ever. I've never seen so much pink and purple.
Thanks Ariel for the best little girl party! Ariel even wrote Kate letters ever month or so after the party. It's now March, and Kate still talks about her and what princesses she's going to invite to her next party. I think I created a monster.
Happy Birthday to my baby!
