Alphabet Crown!!
Kate got her alphabet crown!!!
This is pretty much the biggest thing that can happen your first year of preschool. They give the kids a crown when they know all the letters and all of the sounds the letters make. Kate has worked so hard learning them and has known them all since Christmas, but for some reason she never got her crown. Then in the spring I realized they were testing them on lower case letters, and not in the right order, and she was getting b, d, p, n, r, confused.
Well, after about 2 weeks of working the lower case letters in random order, she got in the car looking like this! She was so excited, she could barely talk. It went something like this, "Mama, guess what, Miss Anna said I'm good enough to get my alphabet crown next time, can you believe it? I'm just so excited, I can't believe it!"
Well the next week came, and I was so excited to pick her up. (I even called the office to make sure they hadn't forgotten to test her since it would have killed her to go another day.) She was so proud and showing off her crown to the other kids waiting for rides.
This smile is the best. Proud little girl, and proud mama!!
